The Power Adventure tire, developed for gravel bikes used on- and off-road, has been launched by Michelin as part of its Power range of bicycle tires.
Michelin has designed the tire to deliver a low rolling resistance and a high level of grip, aided by small shoulder blocks and a tread pattern with a smooth center. The notched shoulder of the Power Adventure has been engineered to provide traction on unpaved surfaces, while the slick central block enables riders to have both traction and speed on asphalt riding surfaces.
Michelin has also used its new Gum-X Technology rubber compound to improve grip levels on dry and wet terrain. The Michelin Power Adventure also features a lightweight 3×100 TPI construction with the manufacturer’s Bead 2 Bead technology – an extra protective layer around the entire carcass for additional durability.
The Power Adventure is available in the USA from June 1 in a wide range of sizes and a tubeless ready version.
“Adding the Michelin Power Adventure tire to the US market enhances our gravel offering to a new consumer,” said Richard Kornacki, director sales and marketing for 2 wheel products, Michelin. “Enabling cyclists the freedom to ride from road to gravel along their journey fits our drive to improve mobility for everybody.”
