The Pilot Sport 5 and Primacy 4+ tires have been launched by Michelin for application to high-performance vehicles and to sedans and SUVs.
Developed to deliver longevity and performance, the Pilot Sport 5 provides precision and reactivity when cornering through Dynamic Response technology. A hybrid aramid and nylon ply forms a belt around the tire’s structure to ensure driving inputs are transmitted accurately.
Additionally, Michelin’s Dual Sport Tread Design offers high levels of grip and braking performance on both wet and dry surfaces. The inner part of the tread has been designed to work in wet weather while the outer tread aids in dry grip scenarios.
The Pilot Sport 5 is available in Europe in 50 sizes from 17in to 21in and will be available globally from March 1, 2021.
In addition to the performance vehicle tire, Michelin is also launching the Primacy 4+ summer tire for passenger vehicles and SUVs.
Featuring Michelin EverGrip technology, the tire delivers excellent braking performance over its entire lifetime. This is made possible by two combined layers of rubber which offset the loss in tread depth, enabling effective water evacuation even when worn.
Launched on January 1, 2021, in 82 sizes from 16in to 19in, the range will grow to 121 sizes for 16in to 21in diameters by the end of the year.
