Michelin has launched two tire models: the Michelin Power Protection TLR tire for road cyclists and the Michelin City Street tire for urban commuters.
The tires are engineered to meet the specific demands of their respective markets, providing durability and performance across various conditions.
The Michelin Power Protection TLR is tailored for road cyclists who ride year-round. The tire features puncture protection technologies and a unique tread pattern optimized for fast rolling and stability. The tire’s Michelin Bead to Bead technology provides reinforcement to prevent punctures and pinches, while the Michelin Magi-X compound enhances wet grip. This makes the Power Protection TLR Michelin’s most durable tubeless-ready road tire, suitable for all seasons.
The Michelin City Street tire, first introduced in May 2024, has been designed to provide a reliable and comfortable ride for urban commuters. It is designed for both electric and traditional bicycles, featuring improved puncture protection through its Michelin City Shield technology.
“Road cycling is at the heart of our humble beginnings as a company, and unveiling these new tires for avid road cyclists honors the rich Michelin heritage,” said Andrew Besancon, director of marketing for recreational brands at Michelin North America.
“Our new tubeless-ready, all-season-capable Michelin Power Protection TLR tire allows enthusiasts to experience our cutting-edge tire innovations during their cycling adventures, while a combination of City Shield and Magi-X Technology within the Michelin City Street tire help elevate commuter adventures.”
