Kumho Tire USA has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) tire line-up with the introduction of the Majesty 9 Solus TA91 EV and the Crugen HP71 EV.
Both tires incorporate Kumho Tire’s K-Silent technology, aimed at reducing cabin noise and enhancing overall comfort. This technology uses sound-absorbing foam materials in the tire structure and a specially designed tread pattern to dissipate noise.
The Majesty 9 Solus TA91 EV has been designed for for drivers of EV coupes, sedans and CUVs, while the Crugen HP71 EV has been designed to offer “top-tier feel and quiet ride specifically for CUVs and SUVs with an added level of all-weather performance”.
In addition to improved comfort, both tires have been engineered to offer lower rolling resistance, thereby extending the driving range per charge for electric vehicles, Kumho says.
The Majesty Solus TA91 EV comes in sizes 18in to 21in and the Crugen HP71 EV is offered in sizes 19in to 22in. Both come with a 50,000-mile warranty.
Kumho says its EV tire line-up is compatible with five EV fitments in North America, serving as an OE supplier for manufacturers such as Kia and Hyundai, and six OE fitments outside of North America.
“Kumho Tire is at the forefront of EV tire technology,” said Shawn Denlein, president of sales and marketing for Kumho Tire USA.
“Innovation never stops at Kumho Tire, as we continue to evolve our EV tire offerings while offering consumers durable and affordable options for the unique demands of today’s various EV models.”
