Kumho has launched the Solus HA32, an all-season tire that succeeds the HA31 and is said by the tire manufacturer to be superior in nearly every way. It is available in 42 sizes and boasts 15% greater wet grip and 10% better wet/dry handling and braking.
Kumho revealed the new product by highlighting the convenience of the all-season tire, designed to negate the need to fit summer or winter tires depending on the season and the weather conditions. The tire manufacturer says that the perfect compromise is an all-season product designed to operate in all conditions all year round.
The new tire is initially available in 42 sizes to fit wheel rims from 14in to 18in in diameter, which will satisfy the needs of a wide range of passenger cars, as well as many SUVs. The HA32’s sidewall features a distinctive all-season icon inclusive of a hologram that changes appearance according to the angle of the prevailing light. The sidewall also wears the ‘M+S’ and ‘3 peak mountain snowflake’ symbols that confirm the product’s winter weather credentials.
The HA32 has already been recognised by The Red Dot Design Award, one of the leading design accolades, prior to its release on the European market. The tire’s compound and zigzag V-shaped tread pattern are primarily responsible for Kumho’s claimed improvements in wet weather performance compared with the previous tire, which have earned the Solus HA32 a ‘grade B’ label for wet grip.
Other features such as its three-dimensional interlocking sipes ensure impressive handling in all conditions, according to Kumho.
