SWT Americas has announced the release of a new irrigation tire, the SWT Radial Non-Directional AgriStorm nD2. The tire’s design process was informed by consumer clinics with American farmers, and was subsequently produced by Indian tire manufacturer Speedways Rubber Company.
The new release is stated to be the first double-belted radial and non-directional irrigation tire on the US market, and its manufacturer claims the double-belt design provides a higher level of durability when maneuvering through or over field hazards, while also increasing overall stability.
Other benefits include a reduction in soil compaction by decreasing the tire’s footprint by up to 60%, while a lower air pressure design provides less field tracking and decreases field rutting.
SWT says the 88° tread design adapts to changing terrains and field conditions to minimize soil disturbance alongside ensuring improved tread clean out. To provide a longer service life and a lower total cost over time, antioxidation wax technology also features.
“For 2021, we are introducing [more than] 11 new radial rears, eight flotation tires, five R1 Grip King HDs, one new E3 Rock Lug and various other tires,” commented Robert Gregg Hubbard, president of SWT Americas. “Speedways will continue to be an industry leader in market innovation to address the needs of the North American Market.”
