Goodyear has introduced a high load version to its FuelMax T range of trailer tires with an EU tire label rating of A in fuel efficiency. The new tire in size 385/65 R22.5 is engineered for axle loads of up to 10 tonnes, to meet the increasing demand for such tires as more European countries adopt higher vehicle weights.
Almost 80% of European countries have now extended regulations to permit axle weights in excess of the so far standard 40 tonnes on five-axle articulated vehicles. There are now 32 countries in the region that allow total weights in excess of 44 tonnes even.
The new tire has been developed to meet fleet operators’ demands for high load trailer tires capable of enabling total weights in excess of 40 tonnes.
