A high-speed radial specialty trailer tire named the Strong Guard ST has been launched by the Hercules Tire and Rubber Company (HTR), a subsidiary of American Tire Distributors (ATD).
Designed as the replacement for the Hercules Power ST2, the Strong Guard ST benefits from an increased speed rating of N (87mph) to meet modern vehicle standards. The tire’s construction is made up of high-tensile steel belts reinforced with two nylon cap plies to ensure a high level of durability and dependability when towing heavy payloads.
Other features of the Strong Guard ST include an optimized footprint to ensure even pressure distribution across the tread, and four circumferential grooves coupled with a strong center rib for efficient water evacuation and straight-line tracking. Furthermore, the company’s CoolCourse Technology – a temperature control system – reduces heat generation to enhance performance at high speeds. A curb guard also protects the sidewall against damage.
“The Strong Guard ST’s new features and enhanced performance make it the right tire for a wide variety of towing needs,” said Marshall Gillespie, ATD’s director of commercial merchandising, proprietary brands. “The tire’s innovative compound and optimized tread depth promote long-lasting wear while at the same time improving fuel economy.”
The Strong Guard ST will be available in seven 13in to 16in inch sizes.
