Goodyear has released details of its latest tire offering, the EV-4M Port Handler designed for the port and industrial handling sectors.
Featuring an updated radial construction, the tire is said to provide a softer ride for increased driver comfort, alongside improved tread wear over time and enhanced durability. The tire meets the current industry IND-4 rating, and due to its higher TKPH/TMPH (ton-kilometer-per-hour/ton-miles-per-hour) ratings, it enables a higher operating speed over a longer distance.
The revised tread pattern is made up of large circumferential grooves with lateral blading. This enables improved wet-weather performance and increased traction and braking power, allowing port and industrial vehicles to operate with stability in all weather scenarios. Stability when carrying heavy loads is enhanced due to a robust casing construction, over-sized high-strength bead bundles, an improved wedge and sidewall inserts.
“The all-new EV-4M Port Handler provides operators with stability, comfort, durability and longevity for a wide range of machines,” commented Tracy Maclear, OTR marketing and business development manager for Goodyear EMEA. “It is a great update to Goodyear’s Total Mobility package of trusted products, reliable services and tire management solutions. The Total Mobility package helps operators minimize their tires’ cost per hour and enhance the productivity and efficiency of the operation.”
The EV-4M is available in a 450/95R25 size with two load and speed ratings: a 200A5 for industrial use and a 204A5 for straddle carrier use. The tire joins the manufacturer’s range of nine tires aimed at industrial vehicles such as reach stackers, straddle carriers and container handlers.
