Engineered with the tire technology platform ENLITEN, the latest tire from Firestone provides enhanced performance to “meet everyday challenges” and best-in-class wet grip that has been awarded EU label A grade.
The Firestone Roadhawk 2 ENLITEN has been designed for the summer seasons, offering 20% longer mileage than the original Firestone Roadhawk, the company states.
With heavy traffic, sudden braking and highway speed all part of the daily mix of challenges on the roads, the Roadhawk 2 ENLITEN has been designed to enable motorists to stay in control of their everyday journeys. The tire also features NanoPro-Tech, a high silica content compound that provides robust abrasion resistance and longer mileage.
The tire was developed at Bridgestone’s Rome R&D center and is EV-ready, meaning the tire is capable of meeting both the general performance demands of any vehicle and the specific requirements of electric vehicles.
Available from January 2024 in Europe and the Middle East, the tire will come in sizes from 17in to 21in; 16in sizes will be available from January 2025, taking the total available sizes to 112. With 19 more sizes than the original Roadhawk, the Roadhawk 2 ENLITEN launches with an increased focus on the HRD/HRD+ segment and covers 90% of the total MID summer market.
Steven De Bock, vice president of consumer replacement and OE at Bridgestone EMIA, said, “The Roadhawk has represented the best of Firestone, and now we’ve taken it to another level by introducing the incredible capabilities of ENLITEN with the Roadhawk 2 ENLITEN. As an EV-ready tire that’s available in a wider collection of sizes, this tire’s performance benefits can be brought to many more drivers.”
