Falken has revealed that the company is to release its first tire with an integrated tire sealant technology, claimed to be capable of immediately sealing punctures.
The Falken all-season Euroall Season AS210 will be available to customers in two sizes, with its Coreseal technology capable of sealing punctures that are up to 5mm deep in the tread’s surface.
The system consists of a layer of highly adhesive, viscous sealant situated on the inside lining of the tire. If a puncture occurs, the sealant then flows into the hole to prevent a loss of air pressure.
“Coreseal is a simple solution to a disruptive problem,” commented Andreas Giese, senior manager of corporate planning/product planning, Falken Tyre Europe. “Now you no longer have to change a tire or wait for roadside assistance, you can simply continue your journey. Coreseal is a significant step in making tires smarter and more efficient.”
The tire will be available in Germany this month, in a size 235/55R18 104V XL followed by a 225/50R17 98V XL all-season Euroall Season AS210.
