Tire maker Continental has announced the release of a new summer tire called the UltraContact. With an increasing number of rental vehicles on the road and car sharing on the rise, the manufacturer has designed the tire to provide a longer service life for vehicles on the move more frequently.
To deliver this extended service life, Continental’s developers redesigned the tire’s compound and tread pattern. These design changes also provide a low rolling resistance, low noise emissions and safe handling characteristics.
The UltraContact is suitable for application to traditional cars and electric vehicles, and depending on the tire’s dimensions, is approved for speeds up to 300km/h. The UltraContact will be available from spring 2022 and is going to be produced in a range of sizes to suit rim diameters between 14in and 20in.
