Continental has released details of the latest addition to its General Tire portfolio, the General TE95 tire. It features high traction attributes to aid in vehicle operation during soil compaction work in road and construction applications.
Like the entire General portfolio, the TE95 features Conti’s V.ply technology to ensure a high level of protection against punctures and cuts. An optimized tire contour ensures even pressure distribution when fitted to construction vehicles such as single-drum compactors. The tread pattern features robust geometric tread blocks to provide constant traction on a variety of surfaces including sand, mud and stony soils.
The V.ply technology provides protection and rigidity through an integrated weave pattern consisting of up to 22 layers of diagonal fibers embedded in three wire cores aligned in a V pattern. These intersecting textile layers are arranged at an approximate angle of 30°; together with the sidewall layers, they provide increased stiffness within the tire. This gives the vehicle a higher level of stability and durability when cornering.
With the addition of the TE95, Continental now has 18 tire specifications for the earthmoving sector, with 14 sizes available for use on wheel loaders, dozers, dump trucks and scrapers.
