The CompactMaster EM tire aimed at the telehandler and compact loader market has been launched by Continental.
Produced in Lousado, Portugal, the tire has been designed to help operators handle rough terrain, and as a result, it now features Continental’s new Turtle Shield tread technology and a twisted steel cord. A hard shell and a more flexible steel wire construction aid in preventing cuts and damage and offer a higher level of stability.
With telehandlers and compact loaders carrying out stationary turns on hard surfaces, lateral pressure on the tire is increased. The latest tread pattern has been designed to better withstand these lateral forces and punctures, while still being capable of operating at speeds of up to 50km/h.
“The new twisted steel cord construction is part of the unique Turtle Shield design beneath the rubber which protects the tire shoulder area from damage like cuts and penetration from foreign objects,” explained Benjamin Hübner, product line manager, agricultural tires, Continental Commercial Specialty Tires.
Furthermore, a higher amount of rubber with a finely structured block has been used to ensure easier stationary turns and a longer service life.
Developed for application within the agriculture and construction industries, the CompactMaster EM tire is best suited for vehicles carrying out operations on paved surfaces, asphalt, sand and gravel.
