A new all-position radial tire, the M863, has been released by Bridgestone to deliver increased levels of performance for on- and off-highway fleets. Designed for application to dump trucks, logging trucks and other fleets within the construction industry, the M863 benefits from a four-belt construction which ensures durability and retreadability.
Additional features of the M863 include stone ejector platforms which aid in preventing stones from drilling down into the tread grooves and piercing the belt layer. Traction levels are improved through the use of block sipes and wide flow-through grooves which cut through standing water in wet scenarios. Furthermore, Bridgestone has used stabilizing tire bars within the M863’s construction to reduce block squirm which combats irregular wear patterns for an extended service life.
The Bridgestone M863 is available in four sizes, consisting of a 11R22.5, 11R24.5, 315/80R22.5 and 12R22.5. Additional sizes are expected to be added to the range later on in 2023.
“When designing the Bridgestone M863, our goal was to produce an all-position tire without trading off its durability, retreadability or performance on- and off-highway,” said Steve Hoeft, president, commercial truck group, Bridgestone Americas. “We believe the versatility of the M863 will maximize performance and efficiency for fleets.”
