Bridgestone has launched the Weather Control A005 Evo, the second generation of its all-season touring tire.
The tire and rubber company says it has been designed to deliver year-round control, safety and convenience, and has been reengineered for additional performance benefits.
The A005 Evo has been built using Bridgestone’s advanced, high-silica NanoPro-tech compound technology combined with a new mixing technology to improve its silica dispersion for better fuel economy and snow performance.
The optimized carcass construction and contact pressure distribution enables the tire to handle everyday challenges across all four seasons without compromising wear performance.
A V-shaped layout and Z-shaped sipes improve snow traction force by 3%, also improving snow braking distances and slalom acceleration.
The A005 Evo has achieved the EU label A-grade in wet grip, the highest rank for wet weather conditions.
The tire will be available from July 2020 in 94 sizes from 15in-21in including Bridgestone’s DriveGuard Run-Flat Technology (RFT) for eight popular sizes.
Emilio Tiberio, chief technology officer and chief operating officer at Bridgestone EMIA, said, “Building on the incredible wet grip performance that was engineered into the A005, we decided to improve the snow performance of its successor even further. The Bridgestone Weather Control A005 Evo truly offers drivers peace of mind on the roads whatever the season.”
