The new SEAT Minimó electric concept car presented at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show last week, is equipped with Bridgestone tires.
The shoes were specially developed for the application at the tire manufacturer’s R&D Center in Rome, Italy, and feature Bridgestone’s ologic technology, as well as characteristics tuned for micro-mobility and CASE (connected, autonomous, shared electric) vehicles.
As Mark Tejedor, VP of original equipment at Bridgestone EMEA, explained, “New social, economic and technological megatrends are pushing the pace of change in our industry and the future of vehicles is connected, autonomous, shared and electric.
“At Bridgestone we are working to make the CASE concept a reality in cities and on roads by collaborating with auto makers on models like the Minimó that SEAT presents.
“We have brilliant chemists and engineers and invested almost €800m (US$904m) last year in R&D. As the digital revolution inspires new forms of mobility, we want to harness our expertise to the benefit of our customers to give them a real competitive advantage.
“SEAT was looking for a reliable, flexible and innovative partner. Bridgestone was selected as the exclusive tire partner and as a result, our R&D center in Rome prepared in record time a concept tire that met the demanding expectations of the SEAT designers.”
