To prepare for the production of sustainable mobility solutions, Apollo Tyres has developed passenger vehicle tires which use 75% sustainable materials. Apollo’s new sustainable product, the Apollo Amperion and Apollo Aspire 4G+, feature a multitude of compounding ingredients in several different components of the tire, including bio-based and recycled materials.
The sustainable natural rubber used in the tire comes from suppliers who have public commitments to where their materials are sourced, or which are traceable to specific plantations. These requirements align with Apollo’s sustainable natural rubber policy.
Both the Apollo Amperion and the Apollo Aspire 4G+ were manufactured at the company’s Andhra Pradesh plant, in the southeastern coastal region of India.
“We are confident about the performance of these tires developed using 75% sustainable materials, and have cleared regulatory performance requirements,” said P K Mohamed, chief advisor, R&D, Apollo Tyres. “These tires will now undergo extensive road evaluation under typical operating conditions. This development is aligned with the sustainability journey of Apollo Tyres and the goal of achieving the 40% sustainable material target by 2030, and of being carbon neutral by 2050. Our team continues to showcase innovation and commitment to building a sustainable future.”
