Yokohama Tire has updated its ultra-high-performance Advan tire portfolio with the launch of the new Advan Neova AD09.
Described as a “street-ready” track tire, the AD09 benefits from a new and improved tread pattern with large continuous tread blocks. This enables more rubber compound to be in contact with the driving surface, and results in higher levels of grip. Additionally, chamfered grooves on the tire improve wear resistance and ensure effective performance throughout its service life.
The tire maker has also developed a new casing construction for the AD09 which features a high turn-up ply, resulting in the new tire having the strongest and most rigid casing ever created by Yokohama. For precision steering response, a solid center rib ensures constant road contact. An optimized high silica compound also works to deliver improved wet grip in corners and when braking.
“The AD09 is race-born and street-ready, and harkens back to Yokohama’s UHP and motorsports heritage,” explained Drew Dayton, senior product planning manager, consumer tires, Yokohama. “Its high-tech compound, casing and thread pattern combine the best of racing and science to deliver improved grip for unprecedented performance.”
The tire is currently available in diameters ranging from 15in to 20in, with 51 different sizes planned. The tire will replace the previous Advan Neova AD08R.
