With the 2023 racing season just ended, preparations are already underway for next year, with Pirelli announcing the tire selection for the first three races, in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Australia. The upcoming season will feature all five homologated compounds, excluding the C0, in the initial races.
The Australian Grand Prix in March 22-24, 2024, in Albert Park, Melbourne, will use a new tire selection – the three softest tires, C3 as Hard, C4 as Medium and C5 as Soft, have been chosen to provide more strategic options.
The Middle East races in Sakhir (February 29 to March 2, 2024) and Jeddah one week later will have the same tire choices as last year. Sakhir will use C1, C2, and C3 due to its challenging conditions, with Jeddah opting for a slightly softer combination with C2 as Hard, C3 as Medium and C4 as Soft.
During the official testing from February 21-23, 2024, in Sakhir, drivers will have the opportunity to test all five tire compounds. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) logo will make its debut on all the tires, marking the first certification of a competition tire range by the FSC. This certification ensures accountability in the supply chain and emphasizes sustainable practices in the sourcing of tire components, benefiting biodiversity and local communities.
