Pirelli has chosen harder tire combinations for the upcoming round of the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) at Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic.
The circuit’s challenging layout, characterized by high speeds and numerous corners, places heavy demands on tires, necessitating solutions that provide enhanced durability and consistent performance. In response, Pirelli has chosen a tire allocation featuring harder options, including a new rear tire in D0286 specification for WorldSBK riders.
This tire variant, alongside the standard SC1, is designed to provide improved structural strength while maintaining high performance levels and minimizing wear, according to Pirelli.
“The Most circuit, renowned for its fast and classic layout, presents unique challenges for tire management,” stated Giorgio Barbier, Pirelli’s head of motorcycle racing. “Similar to Phillip Island, we have tailored our tire choices toward more durable solutions to better withstand the rigors of the track. For WorldSBK, we are introducing the new-development SC1 alongside the standard SC1, aimed at delivering consistent performance throughout the race distance with excellent handling characteristics.”
At Autodrom Most, the allocation for WorldSBK will see the standard SC0 replacing the SCQ for qualifying and the Superpole Race, owing to the highly abrasive asphalt. Pirelli says this adjustment will ensure optimal performance and durability during these sessions.
In the Supersport World Championship (WorldSSP), the tire options will also be on the harder side, with the SC1 replacing the SCX as an alternative to the SC0, offering stability and reliability under race conditions.
