South Korea-based Hankook Tire has been selected as the sole and official tire supplier for the Sepang 12 Hours, a motorsport endurance race that is scheduled to take place March 3-5, 2023, in Malaysia. Running for the first time since 2016, the race will have a reduced, eight-hour format.
The tire maker will supply its race-proven Ventus tires to every category and team entering the race, consisting of the F200 slick tire for dry conditions and the treaded Z207 for wet conditions. Hankook’s Ventus race tires have been designed to provide the high level of durability and consistent performance required for endurance racing.
“We are extremely happy to be the official tire supplier in the 2023 Sepang 12 Hours,” said Youngsoo Kim, vice president of the motorsports and motor culture department at Hankook Tire. “We are confident that the teams and the drivers will enjoy our tires and the service provided by HK Motorsport. Moving forward, we will expand our contribution to Asian motorsport [following] this opportunity.”
“Sepang 12 Hours has been one of the jewels in Asian motorsport,” added Hongsik Jeon, managing director of HK Motorsports. “I am very happy to see the race is back since its last event in 2016. For this reason, we are honored to be appointed as the official tire supplier. With this great opportunity, we will try our best to support and satisfy the teams and drivers in every field.”
