Bute Motorsport, the organizer of the GT Cup Championship in the UK, has announced that it will continue its partnership with Pirelli. This will ensure the Italian tire manufacturer will remain the championship’s sole tire supplier until 2028.
Pirelli has supported Bute Motorsport and the GT Cup Championship for many years. First founded as a premium GT sprint series, the championship continues to be a “destination for drivers and teams seeking exhilarating competition, technical innovation and a passionate community of motorsport fans”, the organizer says.
“It’s fantastic to be renewing our brilliant partnership with Pirelli,” said Christopher Haynes, Bute Motorsport managing director. “This long-standing relationship has supported us and our teams for many years and we’re excited for it to continue. Maintaining a collaboration of this caliber can only be a positive thing for our sport as we assist each other in the development of our offerings for teams, and we look forward to working together with the Pirelli team for another five seasons.”
Bute Motorsport says it has the utmost confidence in Pirelli to continue to offer the best complete solution for the championship and the agreement will see Pirelli continue to provide a range of slick and wet tires to competitors, tailored to the needs of each entrant. The tire manufacturer will also be on-hand to provide technical support and advice on their products during race events.
“We are delighted to continue our support of the GT Cup and extend our long-standing successful relationship with Bute Motorsport,” said Jonathan Wells, Pirelli UK motorsport manager. “It’s a collaboration that has consistently delivered outstanding results on and off the racetrack. We look forward to another exciting chapter and are committed to continuing to deliver for the GT Cup – a championship that truly aligns with Pirelli’s premium, prestige and high performance benchmarks.”
As the two companies embark on a renewed journey together, both brands says they extend their gratitude to the drivers, teams and fans who continue to make the series a vibrant and thrilling spectacle. The provisional 2024 calendar is available now at www.gtcup.co.uk.
