A tire manufacturing plant has reported major improvements in process capability thanks to the installation of Micro-Epsilon online measurement systems.
The factory, which produces tires for the SUV market, operates continuously around the clock, 350 days a year, producing thousands of tires each day. It uses a mixture of manual processes and automated machinery.
Since early 2015 the plant has installed a number of online tire measurement systems from Micro-Epsilon in various stages of the production process.
Over time these systems have enabled it to improve its understanding of the behavior of process variables such as line speeds, temperatures, pressures and the effects of changing these parameters on the quality of the products produced. Measurement systems have proved to be 99.9% reliable, greatly improving process capability.
