Bridgestone has announced the planned expansion of four of its tire plants in Japan.
The plans to expand the Tochigi, Hikone, Hofu and Tosu facilities are part of the tire maker’s initiative to reinforce its structure for producing premium tires.
Following an investment of ¥8.2bn (US$71.4m), construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2022 and is expected to increase production capacity by around 6,200 tires per day by 2025, an increase of 10%.
