Bridgestone is temporarily shutting plants in Japan due to a decline in demand.
The plants that are being shut down cover tire production for cars, aircraft, motorcycles, trucks and buses.
In Fukuoka, the Kurume plant will shut its aircraft tire plant from May 27-June 1, June 3-4 and June 6-7, and the section producing tires for passenger cars will be shut from May 28 -June 1.
The Tokyo AC Tire Plant, which produces new and retreaded aircraft tires, will close from May 27-29, May 31-June 2, June 4, and June 6-8.
Nasu Plant in Tochigi, which produces tires for cars and motorcycles, will close from May 28- June 1.
Hikone Plant in Shiga and Tosu Plant in Saga, both of which produce car tires, will be closed from May 28-31.
From May 28 to June 1, the Tochigi Plant, the Amagi Plant in Fukuoka, and Hofu Plant in Yamaguchi, which between them produce car, bus, truck and off-road tires, will all be closed.
