Bridgestone Americas has broken ground on the expansion of its Warren County, Tennessee Truck and Bus Radial Tire Plant in the USA. A US$550m investment has been made by Bridgestone to carry out the construction work which will see the plant’s existing footprint growing by 78,967m2.
The expansion will increase capacity at the facility while accelerating the use of cleaner, safer and more efficient technologies to support commercial truck and bus fleets. The Warren County site will also become one of the manufacturer’s first globally able to produce the Enliten technology stack which optimizes rolling resistance and wear.
The substantial investment will also enable tires manufactured at the site to be equipped with radio frequency identification tags that enable more efficient asset management and optimization of fleets. Technology to enable the integration of tire-mounted sensors will also be implemented.
In addition, Bridgestone has revealed that it will use artificial intelligence technology at the facility to enhance productivity.
“With new investment and new jobs, we are moving our Warren County Plant forward, driven by growing demand for our products, our commitment to investing in US manufacturing and our Warren team’s dedication to innovation, efficiency and quality for our customers,” said Paolo Ferrari, joint global COO, Bridgestone Corporation, and president and CEO, Bridgestone Americas. “Our company and the Warren County Plant team have a vital role to play in the transformation of mobility. This investment will expand the capabilities of this plant and pave the way for Bridgestone to bolster its sustainable solution offerings for fleets.”
The expansion work has already begun and is estimated to be completed by the end of 2026.
