As the UHP tire market continues to grow, so too do tire manufacturers’ demands for reinforcement materials.
Speaking to TTI at Tire Technology Expo 2025 in Hannover (March 4, 5 & 6), Tony Mathew from Netherlands-based Teijin Aramid explained how just one layer of its Twaron para-aramid can reinforce a tire, meeting demands for a lighter tire with lower rolling resistance and emissions. The raw material used is sustainable, upping the green credentials for all concerned.
Mathew also talked through the company’s circularity roadmap.
Teijin Aramid won the Tire Technology International Award for Material Innovation of Year in 2024 for Twaron.
