Bridgestone has launched the Turanza T005, a new passenger car tire designed to provide high performance in wet conditions and improved fuel economy.
The tire, which has already been selected as original equipment by numerous car manufacturers, will be available on the replacement tire market from January 2018.
Jakob Rønsholt, MD for products and solutions strategy at Bridgestone EMEA, commented, “The new Turanza T005 premium touring tire is a core product in the Bridgestone portfolio with significantly high demand coverage.
“No chances were taken in its development: we analyzed consumer needs very carefully and then produced a tire that meets these expectations. Bridgestone Turanza T005 puts drivers in control, especially in the wet.”
To achieve high performance in the wet, engineers developed a special combination of materials and tread design. The dense siping in the blocks and void distribution in the center section of the tread help to produce highly-efficient water drainage. The tire’s tread features a high-silica content compound designed to improve wear, wet grip and fuel efficiency.
