Goodyear has integrated its DriverHub application with Volvo Trucks’ new service, My Business Apps, a subscription-based solution available in selected European markets in 2024. This service is designed for customers to download business-related apps for use on the truck’s side display, eliminating the need for additional smartphones or tablets.
The DriverHub application, now accessible through My Business Apps, provides drivers and fleet managers with real-time tire data, which is important for vehicle performance. The application can be integrated with Goodyear’s tire management solutions, including Goodyear TPMS, Goodyear CheckPoint and Goodyear DrivePoint, aiming to supply continuous and accurate tire condition information.
“Integrating Goodyear DriverHub with Volvo Trucks’ My Business Apps represents an important step toward enhancing fleet management with advanced tire monitoring solutions,” said Piotr Czyżyk, managing director of fleet mobility EMEA at Goodyear. “Our digital application ensures that drivers and fleet managers have access to vital tire data, helping them make informed decisions that improve efficiency, reduce costs and support sustainability.”
Key features of the Goodyear DriverHub application within My Business Apps include real-time tire monitoring, which gives immediate alerts and notifications for tire pressure and temperature deviations, enabling proactive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and enhance road safety. Predictive maintenance is another feature, in which early detection of pressure leaks, with differentiation between fast and slow leaks, allows drivers to take timely and appropriate actions.
Improved tire maintenance through these features aims to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions, contributing to more sustainable fleet operations.
Annelie Norhav, product owner at Volvo Trucks, added, “My Business Apps is an addition to our digital service offering in Volvo Connect. By collaborating with other service providers, we can offer a wider range of in-vehicle services to our customers and their drivers. This means that our customers can benefit from using existing hardware and connectivity in their Volvo trucks, improving the driver’s work environment inside the cab.”
“The collaboration with Goodyear makes it possible for us to deliver a more complete solution to our common customers and make new customers aware of how they can benefit from this collaboration.”
The service is available for trucks with a side display built from week nine of 2021 onward.
