Cleantech company Ecolomondo has received International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) for its 2-reactor Thermal Decomposition Process facility in Hawkesbury, Ontario, recognizing the site’s environmentally, socially and economically sustainable production processes.
Once fully operational, the 4,292m2 Ecolomondo site is expected to process a minimum of 14,000 metric tons of tire waste each year via the company’s TDP recycling technology. The facility houses four main production departments, consisting of tire shredding, thermal decomposition, recycled carbon black refining and oil fractionation.
At full capacity, the recycling operations will produce 5,300 metric tons of recovered carbon black, 42,700 barrels of oil, 1,800 metric tons of steel, 1,600 metric tons of process gas and 850 metric tons of fiber annually.
Ecolomondo’s Hawkesbury TDP facility has also recently achieved simultaneous production cycles in both reactors, a major development on the path toward beginning commercial operations.
