Sanghoon Lee has been appointed as the new president of Hankook Tire’s European headquarters to lead the company’s activities in the EU and CIS region. The 53-year old succeeds Han-Jun Kim.
Lee has been working for the company since 1993 and has extensive experience in international management roles. This includes his previous role as COO at Hankook Tire China and before that vice president of sales. He also played a pivotal role in the expansion of Hankook’s market share in China as head of the strategy department at the Chinese headquarters in Shanghai from 2011. Lee studied public administration at Chung-Ang University in Seoul.
“I am very much looking forward to my new role at Hankook’s European headquarters. Particularly as the automotive industry has traditionally been very strong here and Europe is one of our core markets, one of my responsibilities will be strengthening the innovation power of the company and driving forward digitization,” commented Lee.
