The president of Mesnac Americas, David Jones, has retired. Jones worked in the tire industry for over 50 years in a variety of leadership positions in several countries including Europe, central America, the Far East and North America. He joined Mesnac in 2011 following the acquisition of Wyko Tire Technology, which at that time was jointly owned by Jones and his business partner, industry veteran, Ian Smith.
After the Wyko integration, Jones was appointed to the position at Mesnac Americas, providing leadership for Mesnac’s expansion into North and Latin America. He played a fundamental role in securing manufacturing equipment supply approval to a number of global tire customers; the establishment of Mesnac Brazil and the Mesnac Research and Technical Center in Akron, Ohio; and the acquisition of the Akron-based specialty tire testing company TMSI.
Mesnac Americas CEO Jerry Gu said, “David has given tremendous support and leadership to our Americas regional base. His experience and leadership qualities have been invaluable in the expansion of our business and the establishment of the Mesnac brand. We wish David and his wife Joan all the best in their retirement.”
