Dutch supplier Magna Tyres is to acquire Industra, a Poland-based dealer of specialty tire services.
Industra specializes in the supply of industrial tires for forklifts and port handling machines, tires for earthmoving machinery, and tires, wheels and tracks for the agricultural sector. The company currently has a net turnover of nearly €10m (US$11.3m).
Following the acquisition, together with the existing structures of Magna Tyres Poland, Magna Tyres aims to strengthen its position within the industrial and off-the-road tire markets in Central and Eastern Europe.
The expansion will be used to support company growth while meeting the demands of its customers by being able to offer full-service tire solutions. Furthermore, the company seeks to expand into the Baltic countries, the Balkans and further Eastern European countries.
At present Magna has a large fleet of specialized equipment that consists of five mobile presses, two stationary presses for mounting heavy, solid tires up to 33in and seven mobile service trucks for replacing large tires within the construction machinery sector.
“We’ve always been focused on the expansion of Magna Tyres Poland and our business in Western Europe as well,” commented Michael de Ruijter, CEO and president, Magna Tyres Group. “This collaboration strengthens our European footprint and gives us possibilities to increase and support the customer database in the Eastern part of Europe even more.”
“I’m sure that working as one team will allow us to provide our clients with a better service and a better choice of products,” said Remigiusz Bęben, CEO at Industra. “We will be able to use the experience of Magna Tyres in Poland and in the rest of the world, and Magna will be able to learn how to work with end users of agricultural, industrial, and truck and bus radial tires. I think our multichannel sales strategy in Poland will be an inspiration and a role model for other markets in Europe and the rest of the world.”
