Lehigh Technologies ends 2018 having completed a major expansion in Europe. The company opened its Murillo el Fruto micronized rubber powder (MRP) plant in Navarra, Spain.
The factory, constructed with Lehigh’s Spanish partner HERA Holding, will increase the company’s reach into Europe and the middle east. To help manage the market expansion, Lehigh hired Antón de Castro, who oversees business development and sales activities for MRP and the performance materials market in the EMEA region.
Furthermore, in May at the Movin’On 2018 conference, Lehigh’s parent company Michelin unveiled its plans to develop a tire made of 80% sustainable materials by 2048. As a significant part of Michelin’s High Technology Materials business unit, Lehigh will help it to achieve this goal by providing its patented MRP. Lehigh also recently celebrated a decade-long commercial relationship with Michelin’s North America operations.
