Yokohama has acquired Aichi Tire, a manufacturer of tires for industrial machinery, headquartered in Komaki, Aichi in Japan. The company’s portfolio includes solid tires and press-on tires which it supplies to companies mainly in Japan.
The acquisition forms part of Yokohama’s ongoing strategic plans to expand business in the commercial tire arena. This has also included the opening of its Mississippi, USA, plant in October 2015, which produces truck and bus tires, and the acquisition of Alliance Tire Group in July 2015.
