The Finnish Court of Appeal has announced its decision regarding the ongoing case between Nokian Tyres and Black Donuts Engineering. Black Donuts was disappointed with the original findings of the District Court in the case, but was prepared to accept the decision and move on; however, this was later appealed.
Black Donuts is satisfied with the outcome of the appeal; corporate fines have been substantially reduced and in the case of team members involved in every case, fines or punishments have been reduced. This means there will be no significant impact on the company’s current financial position as the previously given fines had already been substantially paid from trading cashflows.
Now that the court case is finally over, Black Donuts is hoping to experience accelerated growth. According to the company, it has learned from the situation, restructured the organization and sharpened its processes to better meet objectives and the boom cycle of the global tire industry. It has enforced issues of compliance in its corporate policy in order to safeguard compliance in all areas of operation and to help every team member deliver on the organization’s broader goals.
