Tire manufacturer Hankook has received the highest honor from the sustainability rating agency EcoVadis for its CSR (common reporting standard) initiatives and efforts in sustainability.
EcoVadis, which offers the most reliable sustainability ratings in the world, rewarded Hankook for its social responsibility. The medal is only awarded to companies that are in the top 1% of their industry sector.
EcoVadis is an international institute based in France that offers reliable ratings in the field of social responsibility. The ratings are divided into four topic areas: environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
The institute assesses around 6,500 companies from 160 countries around the world and enjoys great trust among European car manufacturers. The medals include from platinum, gold, silver and bronze.
Hankook was awarded the platinum medal for its clear CSR objectives, its participation in various sustainability initiatives and its CSR-related policies. The company’s goals include the use of 100% sustainable materials and a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 compared with 2018.
The company also participates in sustainability initiatives with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and promotes CSR-related policies such as the Sustainable Natural Rubber Policy.
