Andrew Meurer has been appointed as president and chief commercial officer of Liberty Tire Recycling.
Meurer brings over a decade of experience from Michelin, where he most recently served as vice president of sales for the North American passenger tire division. His career also includes tenures at Procter & Gamble and Kimberly-Clark.
Meurer will focus on sustainable solutions for end-of-life tires in collaboration with tire manufacturers and retailers. His role will involve developing cost-effective recycling solutions and exploring better end markets for end-of-life tires. He is also expected to enhance Liberty’s collection services for over 36,000 tire retailers in North America.
“I’m excited to work with Liberty and the team at Energy Capital Partners to transform tire recycling so we can better meet the needs of the entire value chain,” Meurer said.
Thomas Womble, CEO of Liberty Tire Recycling, commented on Meurer’s appointment, “Andrew is the right person for the next phase of Liberty. As an industry, we know we need to continue to evolve and innovate since end-of-life tires can be one of the biggest risks manufacturers and retailers face if they aren’t managed properly.”
