Kumho Tyre UK has appointed Keon Park as its new managing director. He succeeds Myong Joong (Tino) Choi who has returned to Kumho’s Korean headquarters, having headed up the UK operation for the last five years.
Park, 48, has held various senior roles at Kumho since joining in 1995. Park’s early years with Kumho were spent managing labor. He then worked in product quality management, before spending five years in Europe as a technical engineer responsible for 15 countries in Southern and Eastern Europe. Between 2010 and 2013 Park worked as a technology team leader in the original equipment business in Korea and China. His time from 2014 until his latest appointment was spent as a sales team leader for the OE business in the same region.
“I will use my experience in management and technology to help develop Kumho’s strong brand image in the UK and Ireland with both tire industry partners and consumers,” said Park.
Married with three children, he has a bachelor of science degree in industrial chemistry and an MBA, for which he majored in human management.
