The president of Sri Lanka, Gotabaya Rajapaksa, has appointed Prabhash Subasinghe, managing director of GRI, as the new chairman of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB). The EDB’s aim is to position Sri Lanka as a prominent export hub for products and services.
Subasinghe is described as an ambitious and astute entrepreneur. He has a degree in applied economics and business from Cornell University, and undertook subsequent studies at Harvard Business School, and has built a respected career after his education. Currently leading a group of companies, Subasinghe is said to be a proven leader with a steadfast passion in building successful businesses.
Subasinghe said he was humbled to have been selected to steer the country’s export development initiative and accepted it in the country’s interest.
