Continental has altered the management structure of its Specialty Tires business unit. Wolfgang Thomale, head of the entire Specialty Tires business unit, is now also responsible for the associated Two-Wheel Tires segment. This was previously under the management of Thomas Falke, who will now be responsible for the Commercial Specialty Tires segment, which Thomale had led since summer 2020.
Continental says the internal restructure will help the business unit continue to grow, as it benefits from the experience of the two managers.
Falke draws on seven years as head of the Two-Wheel Tires division, during which Continental states he was able to consistently build up and expand the business with motorcycle and bicycle tire product lines. As an expert in growth in the specialty tire segment, he is tasked with expanding the business with tires for highly specialized industrial, port, construction and agricultural machinery.
Thomale, meanwhile, is experienced in the area of the company’s passenger car and light truck tire business.
Under the umbrella of the Specialty Tires business unit, Continental produces tires for material handling; the agricultural, port and construction sectors; bicycles and motorcycles; and for racing use.
