Wojciech Paruzel has been appointed chief operations officer at Contec, a Polish company that makes circular rubber and plastic products through end-of-life tire recycling.
Paruzel comes on as the company looks to complete the expansion of its Szczecin plant and targets further European expansion, following a successful €15m (US$16m) funding round in 2023.
Paruzel brings more than 25 years of experience to the new role. His career includes positions in the construction, automotive and technology sectors, most recently as COO of the JS Hamilton Group, where he “improved operational efficiency with selected strategies across Central and Eastern Europe”, Contec says.
Krzysztof Wróblewski, Contec’s CEO, said, “Paruzel brings extensive experience and knowledge to the team, which are crucial for our ambitious development plans. His collaborative vision to operational challenges will allow us to continue working on innovations and strengthen our position as a leader in tire recycling on a global scale.”
Paruzel’s appointment supports the company’s goal of accelerating the manufacturing industry’s shift to carbon neutrality, with the company looking to use his experience in business scaling and customer service to guide Contec through its upcoming expansion.
Paruzel said, “I am happy to have the opportunity to join the Contec team. I admire their innovative approach to solving the problem of used tires and how they add value to newly created products within the circular economy. I see potential in Contec and am excited to support and contribute to the achievement of the company’s goals.”
