A new range of all-steel radial tires have been launched by Apollo Tyres. The Terra MPT 1 is available in three sizes for 20in wheels, for multipurpose trucks that operate on- and off-road.
All Terra MPT 1 models feature a self-cleaning tread pattern, derived from the Apollo Terra Pro 1045. The tires offer enhanced wear resistance and performance on challenging terrains thanks to a new durable compound.
The new range is available for a selection of on- and off-road trucks, including vehicles used for roadside and infrastructural maintenance, firefighting and military applications. The tires can also be fitted on select recreational camping units.
Available in three sizes: 365/80 R 20, 365/85 R 20 and 405/70 R 20, the Terra range is manufactured at Apollo’s facility in Chennai, South India. These tires come with the M+S (mud and snow) symbol on the sidewall, hinting at their all-terrain capabilities.
The MPT 1 features steel radial carcass construction with steel belts to ensure durability and stability. It is compatible with central tire inflation systems and can also be regrooved to extend its life. It has a speed rating of J (100km/h) (365/85 R 20 and 405/70 R 20 MPT) and K (110km/h) (365/80 R 20 MPT). The tires are also ECE 54 type-approved and POR-certified (Professional Off-Road).
Guido Boerkamp, head of off-highway tires, Europe, said, “The launch of the new Terra MPT 1 represents a significant milestone in the diversification of our industrial product portfolio. These products mark our position in the MPT segment and signal our dedication to innovation and customer satisfaction within the industrial and construction vehicle sector.”
