Stackpole Engineering: software engineer 1

Stackpole Engineering Services, located in North Canton, Ohio, is a full-service provider of engineering solutions with a strong presence in the automotive, truck/bus, racing, military, and tire industries. Using the latest software development tools, our team develops advanced engineering and simulation software for Tier 1, 2 and 3 tire and vehicle manufacturers, as well as amateur and professional race teams and suppliers.

Job summary and requirements:
We are seeking software engineering candidates with strong interpersonal and self-motivational skills to be responsible for the development and maintenance of custom engineering based simulation and tire modeling software solutions for a broad range of customers. Software Engineer 1 responsibilities include gathering user requirements, defining system functionality and writing code in various languages, including .NET programming languages (e.g. C++, C# and VB.NET). Our ideal candidates are familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment. Candidate must be a fluent communicator with team members and company clients, and must be able to apply their analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve development issues as they arise. The candidate must be able to adapt to varied environments, projects and roles on the team. Any candidate being considered must have, at a minimum, the following technical qualifications:
- Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, and 2 or more years of software development experience. Recent graduates may also be considered, but must have relevant experience.
- Object Oriented Programming skills.
- .NET Language experience in C# or VB.NET.
Ultimately, the role of the Software Engineer 1 is to build high-quality, innovative and fully performing software that complies with coding standards and technical design.

Other desired skills:
- Experience with architecture design patterns such as MVVM, MVC.
- Experience with Microsoft WPF, ASP.NET.
- Experience with SQL.

Responsibilities and duties:
- Take ownership of current and future software projects to support and update based on customer request.
- Provide technical support to clients as requested.
- Provide accurate development scheduling and timing reports.
- Perform and Communicate in a team environment.

Required education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

Required experience:
- Two or more years of software development experience.
- Recent graduates may also be considered, but must have relevant experience.
