VMI Group: commissioning engineer

Epe (Gld), The Netherlands/worldwide

Salary: €3500-4500 + expenses abroad/travel fees

Are you an experienced commissioning engineer with at least three years of international experience in commissioning machinery and willing to travel for work? Then you are an ideal candidate for this job.

• Education level: Higher education in engineering and technology (HTO), electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent
• Hours: 40 hours a week
• Frequent travel abroad

After the machines have been installed at the customer, you are responsible for making the machines ready for production. Not only do technical aspects play a role in this, but in your capacity as an expert, you are also the first contact point on site. The transfer of technical knowledge for production and maintenance also forms part of your job. In addition to your practical work at the customer, you are an important knowledge carrier for VMI with respect to the further improvement of machine concepts. To this end, you work closely with Project Managers and Support Engineers from the Installation group, which can also support you on technical matters. You will travel 150 to 200 days a year, for periods up to 6 consecutive weeks, to our customers worldwide in Europe, Asia, and America. When you are not traveling for VMI, you are working at our location in Epe.

Your department
You will work for the installation and commissioning group within the engineering department. In total, the VMI Group has 70 international field service fitters and commissioning engineers.

VMI requirements
In your capacity as commissioning engineer you will have frequent contact with our customers and work closely with your colleagues in the field. You are therefore a team player with excellent communication skills and good practical insight for solving problems.

You also have
• Higher education in engineering and technology (HTO) - electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent
• At least three years’ experience in machine construction
• Experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley and/or Siemens is a plus), servo systems and man-machine interfaces
• Excellent organizational- and communication skills
• The willingness to travel worldwide 150 – 200 days a year
• Have good command of Dutch and English
