Cimcorp to expand production and R&D facilities in Finland

Cimcorp is to expand the production and office facilities at its headquarters in Ulvila, Finland. This will involve construction of a new building on a 27,890ft² (8,500m²) piece of land, which was bought by Cimcorp in August 2017, which will almost double the current space's 31,170ft² (9,500m²) footprint. The expansion will enable the company to expand its capacity, improve efficiency and manage larger projects. The building will also house extra space for research and development.

The site in Ulvila currently includes 19,030ft² (5,800m²) of manufacturing space and (3,700m²) of office space. The expansion will extend the floor area by 25,920ft² (7,900m²), adding 18,700ft² (5,700m²) for production and 7,220ft² (2,200m²) for offices – taking the total floor area to 57,090ft² (17,400m²). Furthermore, the new, three-floor office building will provide more room as the company continues to grow its team.

Masatoshi Wakabayashi, CEO, Cimcorp, said, “Our decision to expand our Ulvila facilities is a direct result of the substantial business growth that we have seen over the last five years, and the expected continued growth into the future.

"There has been a sustained increase in orders, and we have continued to invest in product development. This expansion will ensure that we have the capacity and efficiency to continue to meet our customers’ demands and service the rapidly growing global marketplace.

"This new, larger facility will help us strengthen our position as a leading supplier of automated solutions for the tire and distribution industries.”

Construction will begin in summer 2018. Opening is scheduled for summer 2019.
