Omsk Carbon to begin production at Mogilev next year

During the construction of its third site, Omsk Carbon Group has emphasized its focus on improving the production process and increasing the efficiency of the plant’s entire power-generation cycle. Meeting and exceeding the best global quality standards is a complicated and painstaking process, requiring the engineers to re-design and update process lines at the construction stage.

Changing the launch date has enabled the company to ensure excellent performance indicators for the future facility and compliance with 100% of the environmental requirements.

The plant in Mogilev, Belarus, will produce both tread and carcass grades with a capacity of 160,000mt per year. The company has scheduled the commissioning process for the first of the plant’s four production lines as well as the production of active grades for Q1 2018. The first line will be launched at the beginning of Q2 2018. The unit is to ramp up to full capacity by 2020, with materials supplied to European and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) markets.

Subsequent gradual increase in production output will secure stable supply to the European market and further reinforce OCG’s positions as a reliable supplier and strategic partner for major tire and rubber manufacturers.

“We are proud to announce that we will carry out a test launch this year. We are doing our best to make our Mogilev plant the world’s most advanced facility in terms of process equipment in our industry,” commented Valeriy Kaplunat, chairman of the board of directors, Omsk Carbon Group.
