SHOW LIVE: Expo opens its doors!

This year’s Tire Technology Expo and Conference has been hailed as “the best event yet” on its opening day in Koeln Messe, Cologne, Germany. The international exhibition and conference features over 180 exhibitors showcasing the very latest in tire design, materials, chemicals, and tire-building technologies. The Conference has over 130 top level speakers and some 440 delegates registered to attend it and the closely related specialist Courses including the Akron Tire Mechanics Short Course.

Tony Robinson, CEO of UKIP Media & Events, the company that organises Tire Technology Expo and publishes Tire Technology International, said an hour after the exhibition and conference opened today, “This year’s Tire Technology Expo looks set to break all previous records and is unquestionably the best in the history of the show to date. Almost 2,000 tire industry people from 84 countries have pre-registered to attend in 2013, with people coming from countries including Brazil, Venezuela, Peru, Sri Lanka, India, China, Japan and Korea and of course from pretty much every country of Europe. We’re witnessing a truly global turnout.”

Robinson continued, “This year’s exhibition and conference is fulfilling the goal we put in place from the conception of the show: to bring together all of the associated industries under one roof. We’ve key personnel and senior researchers here from tire manufacturers, automotive manufacturers and road-surfacing companies. Indeed, the Conference, Workshops and Short Courses, which will attract over 440 delegates over the course of the three days, was opened by Audi’s team manager for tire technical developments, Thomas Roscher. Each session is genuinely packed.”

You can read about just some of today’s brand-new product launches below, with further show updates coming tomorrow and Thursday.
