SHOW LIVE: Cord replacement from Milliken

Milliken is turning a spotlight on its ready-to-use reinforcement tape at Tire Technology Expo 2013. Milliken’s tape is an innovative product that will help to build the tire of the future. The tape is an engineered strip with a profile that is thinner than a traditional reinforcement fabric or cord. Milliken can adjust the tape’s modulus, rubberized finish, and other properties for a variety of reinforcement applications, including tire cap ply and mechanical rubber goods.

Milliken’s ready-to-use reinforcements go straight to the tire-building machine, bypassing calendering, slitting, cutting, and splicing. In addition to creating processing cost savings for the tire manufacturer, Milliken’s products reduce final tire weight and rolling resistance, resulting in a greener tire that improves the overall fuel efficiency of the vehicle and reduces CO2 emissions.

During the Tire Technology Expo 2013 Conference, Sujith Nair, senior research engineer, Milliken USA, will present a white paper about the benefits of the ready-to-use tape. For more details click here for a Conference program, or visit booth 1180.
